Making Local Woods Work is an exciting Big Lottery funded pilot project, working to help support and grow woodland-based social enterprises across the UK. The project is led by the Plunkett Foundation and involves a fantastic range of partners. The project aims to support 50 woodland social enterprises across the UK during this period, to deliver a range of benefits, including improved woodland management, new uses, improved access and a range of employment and volunteering opportunities. Support includes four days of flexible support for all 50 pilot groups, and a further up to 12 days of support for 30 of the 50 pilot groups. In addition, pilot groups will have access to a range of training and networking events, study visits and tools and resources.
The Plunkett Foundation are specifically seeking pilot groups based in the North West of England. To find out more, or express an interest, please speak to Norman Dandy at Making Local Woods Work on 01993 810730, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
