This course is suitable for people who have basic mensuration knowledge and want to assess standing volume in mature woodland. Participants will also learn to assess and monitor thinning intensity and to estimate quantities of different sized timber products

Volume estimation of stands of timber, using abbreviated tariffing and /or Relascopes
Thinning control - to calculate how much volume you can sustainably remove from a stand and check thinning intensity
Estimated Breakdown of assorted products that might be achieved after harvesting operations
