Countryside Stewardship, which is due to open for applications this summer will contribute around
£925 million over 6 years to land managers to help them improve and protect the environment. It
will support the forestry sector by:
• Bringing more woodlands into management
• Creating new and improving current woodlands
• Improving response to tree health issues.
This event will bring together local foresters, landowners and forestry agents and will provide a
comprehensive overview of the scheme and practical advice on how to create a competitive application.
We will also be providing brief updates on other parts of the Rural Development Programme.
The event on Friday 19 June takes place at Myerscough College, near Preston from 10am to 3pm.
Tea, coffee and a light lunch will be provided.
