Are you a woodland owner or agent? Learn about the value of restocking!
26 March 2018
We are delighted that Dr Jens Haufe of Forest Research is coming down from Ae to provide an introduction to restocking. It's a one day workshop of theory in the morning and site assessments in the afternoon, based in the North Lakes.
We will cover:
- Site recognition: assessment of soil and climatic site factors
- Principles of ground cultivation: overview of common techniques and how to match them with soil conditions
- Principles of tree species selection: matching species' requirements to site conditions.
Restocking is obviously a complex topic, and the formal regular training course is multiday. This one day workshop is intended as a whirlwind taster to the topic, but with sufficient detail to be useful to improve the standard of your restocking and productivity.
