Cumbria Woodlands has been running the Cumbria Deer Project since early 2008, in close partnership with the Deer Initiative, Natural England and the Forestry Commission. The focus of the work is related to unfavourable condition of woodland Sites of Special Scientific Interest due to the impact of deer. This is mainly in the Duddon Valley, Rusland Valley, Borrowdale, Longsleddale and the Arnside & Silverdale area.
