Based on the Definitions of Favourable Conservation Status Natural England are now developing strategies for achieving Favourable Conservation Status. These strategies provide a link between conservation actions on the ground and national nature recovery ambitions. They are intended to guide the work of conservation practitioners, particularly Natural England Area Teams but also external partners.
Cumbria Woodlands provided a strategy document evaluating the:
- priority actions needed to achieve Favourable Conservation Status
- contribution of different places in England to Favourable Conservation Status
- achievability of FCS in a medium-term timeframe, and setting objectives
The strategy will be further refined by Natural England prior to publication.
