PAWS Restoration Q&A Event- Jan 25th

Join Jamie Chaplin-Brice (Woodland Advisor and Ancient Woodland Specialist) and Bryce Flannaghan (Forester working on the Ancient Woodland Restoration at Thirlmere) for a 'walk and talk', session at Thirlmere.

This course is for anyone who owns or is interested in Ancient Woodland, who wants to understand restoration work and see some examples of sensitive operations or specifically see how the Thirlmere restoration project is going.

Great howe- trees growing down to the lake

moss growing on decaying tree

Great How shows examples of different conditions of PAWS. It has a very well-managed SSSI and broadleaf plantations, alongside conifer plantations (some managed well, some poorly) and a host of ancient woodland features.

This session will take place outside in the woods and involve a walking tour of woodland undergoing restoration, paths are narrow and steep in places and involve stiles.

This event will cover much of the same content as the last event here in September.
