Coppice Crafts with Working Class Heroes

Last week, we had the pleasure of working with the Coppice Coop and Working Class Heroes down at Slack Head.

We've been working with Working Class Heroes for some time now, as they invest their time, energy, and funds into restoration work in the South Lakes, most specifically the National Park-owned woodland at Haverthwaite Height.

Whether it's tree planting, bracken bashing or fencing, the team always brings energy and enthusiasm to their work, and over the years have had a major impact on the woodland. For a local business, the ability to invest in a woodland close to home, get their hands dirty, and have a positive impact is huge.

For their business, they create stories and content which is authentic, genuine, and resonates with their audience that wants to buy into a brand that means something and speaks to them rather than simply flogging them more stuff (although the selling of clothes is a crucial part of the business!)

Having worked in the woods and seen coppice work and restoration, the day at the Coop was a great opportunity to see the end results of the coppicing process and get to grips with making stools. Guided skillfully by Duncan, they were introduced to the various techniques and tools involved with making a three-legged stool.

We look forward to a Working Class Heroes x Coppice Coop collab.
